Valentine’s Day was just this week if you didn’t know, a day where the ladies are treated to expensive romantic dinners. Except I didn’t take my wife out. Valentine’s day is just way too commercialised, especially by restaurants with their ridiculously priced set menus. Fast forward a few days later, I instead took her to the multiple award winning fine dining Char Restaurant in the Darwin CBD.
Craig over at Zchilli dropped off a bottle of Black Star (Sweet Chilli) and NT Barbeque Sauces, made from Trinidad Scorpion (ButchT) Chillis – the world’s hottest chilli. Let’s see if these two are as good as the SIN sauce I reviewed not too long ago.
We felt like some Australian food this time around and ended up at Tim’s Surf and Turf for dinner. It’s kind of hidden away, but that’s one of the appeals of this place. With a combination out outdoor and indoor dining, big shady trees and no street traffic, it makes for a really relaxing and casual place for dinner.
