Valentine’s Day was just this week if you didn’t know, a day where the ladies are treated to expensive romantic dinners. Except I didn’t take my wife out. Valentine’s day is just way too commercialised, especially by restaurants with their ridiculously priced set menus. Fast forward a few days later, I instead took her to the multiple award winning fine dining Char Restaurant in the Darwin CBD.
Waking up late on the weekend to clear blue skies, a cool breeze and in need of coffee and food, wife and I headed to Buzz Café in Cullen Bay for our regular date lunch. What better way to enjoy the beautiful day and clean air than with some alfresco dining overlooking the gorgeous marina views.
With the dry season weather kicking in, what better way to enjoy the cool breezes on offer than with a big hearty meal and a warm cup of coffee from Cornucopia Museum Café. I believe they are under new ownership now and the staff behind the counter were very enthusiastic and were thorough in spruiking what was on offer.
There was some office banter about The Boat Shed in Cullen Bay Darwin doing a ripper breakfast. I’m not in that area at such hours of the day, but I did managed to pop over on the weekend to try out some lunch. The sign outside says coffee house, but it was much too hot for that and I had plenty of sleep the night before, so I was just here for the food today.
